Party on a school night!

What’s a girl to do when your husband is out of town for the week?  Well you have a girl’s night on a “school” night!

My little sister, Lindsey and I had a fun little girl’s night/slumber party last night.  Lindsey’s husband is in New Mexico for the entire summer, which is not fun when you are a newlywed :( and since Jon is gone a lot, we decided to start having these fun girls’ nights.

We had round 2 of our Mexican fiesta dinner, drank quite a few vodka/cran drinks and watched WAY too many Justin Bieber music videos! Lol.  But really, you can never watch too many Justin Bieber music videos, lol.  

We set up the AppleTV in the living room, and spent our night watching old music videos, which consisted of JB (of course), but we also threw in some Chris Brown, Timeflies, Mac Miller, and anything else we were in the mood for.

We didn’t even stay up too late, which I’m pretty proud of!

Of course Miley had to be a prt of the fun too!

Friday's Letters

Dear Miley, We celebrated your 3rd birthday on Wednesday and had so much fun! You are so darn cute!!! Especially when you wore your party hat.  I know you were a little mad at me about it, but I just couldn't help it, I love dressing you up!

Dear Husband, When you texted me on Wednesday, telling me that you had a surprise for us, I was expecting something a little more exciting than a TV.  I think that surprise was just for you! :) and now we have more TV's than there is room for in our house.  I just don't get it....

Dear work, Things have been a little crazy this week! I wish things would slow down a bit, but I do love that I'm getting thrown into so many new situations and learning so much! That's what makes me love my job, there is something new everyday! Now if only doing New Employee Orientation was more exciting.....

Dear Hair appointment, I cannot wait to get my hair cut tomorrow, hopefully I have a better experience this time than the last time.  I hope the new person I'm seeing tomorrow can fix what the last person did.  I miss my hair girl in Oregon, she always did such an awesome job :(

Dear Spring, I love you and all of the sunshine and warm weather that you bring! I love driving home from work and enjoying the sunshine on my face!

Dear Weekend, I am so happy that you are finally here!!! Ive been waiting for you to show your pretty little face since Monday!

 

Random Thursday

Happy Thursday! We are 1 more day closer to the weekend and I cannot WAIT until its 5:00pm tomorrow and I can get my weekend started!!! Oh and it also helps that its payday, so that always makes a Friday 10x's better :)

Well start with Maybelline's Baby Lips
I LOVE these, and I try to collect all of the different shades that they have.  I always have a large amount of these hanging out in my purse.  And when I want restock, its always a little hard, because these lip balms are VERY popular.  I'm always on the look out for them and when I do finally find them, I try to snatch 1 of each color.  I highly recommend these.  They are so fun!

Bare Minerals foundation, I've been using this for years and I love it! I don't like using the liquid foundation because it makes me feel like my face cannot breath, this makes my face happy!

Maybelline Great Lash Mascara, Ive tried all the other mascaras out there BUT i always come back to this! It works the best on my lashes and it makes them look full and long.  I love it! 

Victoria's Secret Bronzer, I use this over the bare minerals foundation, because I like to add a little more color to my face :) I'm a little obsessed with this! And it still keeps my face and skin tone looking natural, which is what I like! 

Sephora Glitter Liquid Eyeliner, I wear this over my eyeliner, mostly on the weekends when I want to add a lil sass to my look.  It totally makes your eyes pop! 

 Sephora Hello Kitty Liquid Eyeliner, I really like this! Its like a marker and makes putting eyeliner on very easy! This is also something I wear on the weekends when I want to have fun with my eyeliner and add some more sass :) I have this in black and purple

Victoria's Secret Blush, I love this because it adds a pretty natural color to your cheeks.

 Maybelline Unstoppable eyeliner, This is my go to eyeliner that I use most of the time.  I LOVE it! It is unstoppable and lasts all day, which is great for long work days! If you haven't noticed eyeliner is MY thing.  Like I cannot leave the house without eyeliner on!

Urban Decay Naked Palette, Um, LOVE THIS! This is my go to eyeshadow.  I love the shimmer to the colors and also that the colors are natural tones, which is what I like :)

 And last but not least, Urban Decay Eye shadow primer, this stuff is awesome! I use this when I know that I'm going to have a long day and need my makeup to last all day.  And it also makes your eyeshadow colors brighter.  Everyone needs to own this :)

I love makeup and trying new products, its so much fun to play with!

3....

Today is my lil princess 3rd birthday!  I cannot believe that it has already been 3 years since our baby girl was born.  She always brings a smile to my face and is such a mama's girl.  Our lil Burns family wouldnt be complete without her!

We will be celebrating her special day today with a new dress, some yummy birthday girl treats and maybe even a cake! Ill make sure to document all of the fun and make a special blog post all about it!

DIY Make Up Stand

Last month I crafted a fun & cute makeup stand for my bathroom and I love the way it turned out! :)

This is a fun, easy and CHEAP craft :)  

I got 3 of these trays at the .99 cent store, how great is that?

I had originally planned on painting a white base coat on the trays, followed by a pink coat.  That didnt work out too well...

The white turned out fine, but then when I started painting the pink over it, it went downhill.  The paint was not sticking and just coming off, so I had to go to plan B.

1st I washed off all of the original white paint and let them dry.  Then I headed to the craft store for some spray paint. 

*2 small spray paint cans, which were about $2.99 each.  I ended up only using 1 can of paint.  That was enough to          paint all 3 trays with 2 coats of paint.
*1 sharpie paint pen, which I also didn't end up using.  I had planned on drawing a design onto the trays once they were painted pink, but decided not to, because I love the way they turned out :)
*Candle stick holders, which I got at goodwill a few years ago. You can also get them at the dollar store, not this exact style, but I'm sure you can find some there too. 

I spray painted the 3 trays and let them dry for a few hours. 

I love the way the pink turned out :)

Then I got to work on putting it all together. 

I used my glue gun to put it all together, but I'm sure that you could use super glue or some sort of stronger glue. The top tier  of the stand is a little wobbly, so I don't put anything heavy on that shelf, but other than that, its been working out great! 

I LOVE the way it turned out! and I really love the way it looks in my bathroom! It makes me thing of something I would see in the Betsy Johnson store, which is pretty awesome since her stores are amazing :)

Perfect Night In Swap: Package Reveal

**(I know we were supposed to post about this yesterday, but my camera and computer decided to be uncooperative, sorry im late!)

A few weeks ago I signed up for the "Perfect Night In Swap" hosted by Linny, over at Linny's vault.  I got paired up with Alyssa who blogs over at Two-Thirds Scarlett, who sent me such an awesome pink filled box of goodies! :)

The concept of this swap was to send each other gifts for a perfect night in, and I sure did get a perfect night in!

I was very excited to open up the box and see only pink! Those are the best kinds of gifts :)

Instagram Life

I know, I know, I've been a terrible blogger.  I just haven't felt very inspired lately.... We have lots going on, and I always think "I should totally blog about this" but do i? Of course not! Why? I honestly don't know why, I'm in a blogging rut and i don't know how to get out of it.

St. Patricks day adventures.... Jon and I thought we were just going to lunch for some fish & chips.... yea right!

The guys got to meet a former Oregon Ducks football player, Kiko Alonso, the guy in the orange shirt, vveeerrryyy exciting! As you can see :) 

My VERY 1st accessory in my new car... duh, of course its Hello Kitty :)

The MADNESS has begun.... We currently have 2 TV's in our living room... I feel like I'm living in a frat house.  Too much beer and sports going on right now.  Which is actually pretty fun :)

One of Jon's BFF's, do guys call each other BBF's?? lol.  Well one of his good friends is here for the weekend, he arrived Wednesday night, so its going to be a fun filled weekend with LOTS of sports! Hoprfully we make it out of the house long enough to show him around San Jose and take him to the beach!

Relaxing day!

We all went out to Brown Bag for breakfast this morning , they have the best breakfast in town, and they are always REALLY busy with a long wait, but since we had a late start to our day, we only had to wait 10 mins, thank goodness!

We all ended up getting the same thing.  I don't remember what its call,but it was really good, like breakfast nachos!  Jon and I will definitely get this again.

After breakfast, the boys went to play golf and Heather & I enjoyed some girl time.  We went and got pedicures, and then headed to downtown Kirkland to enjoy the sunshine and people watch,

We sat by the water for a while

After sitting by the water, we went and got drinks at "Vista Lago"  We sat outside and enjoyed the sun and our drinks.

I got a margarita, Heather enjoyed a mojito.

We spent the rest of the evening at home, everyone came over to hang out and we had pizza for dinner, along with some really good baked brie that Heather made for everyone. 

The brie with honey before it went into the oven.  I forgot to get a picutre of it once it was ready, i was too busy enjoying it!
