Jon's 29th Birthday Weekend!

2 weekends ago, We celebrated Jon's 29th birthday.  I didn't really try to plan too much, I just let Jon decide what he wanted to do for his celebration weekend.

Friday night was a low key night, hanging out at home.  Than Saturday morning, Jon's friend, Sean, came over and we headed to Great America for part of day.  This was Jon's 1st time there, and we had a lot of fun.  We got a season pass, so well be spending lots of summer days there!
The guys ready to head in and have some fun!

We're so cool! lol
It was a perfect day out
Enjoying his pizza and beer :)
This picture cracks me up! I love us :)
Jon & Sean!
After Great America, we headed to dinner at an all you can eat sushi place, which is Jon's favorite.  Im glad that Sean also enjoys sushi because I do not eat that stuff, im happy with my chicken teriyaki! :)

Sunday, we planned on heading to Rookies, the near by Oregon Ducks bar, we get there and guess what? The darn place was closed, BOO!!!! So we went to the closest sports bar, which happened to be Hooters, lol.  But the Heat/Spurs game was on and they could not miss the game the (SO glad basketball is over btw!!!)
Tobias & Jon.  Oregon Duck BBF's :)
Jose, Jon and Tobias!
Love him!
Monday was Jon's actual birthday.  He got to take the second half of his work day off and play golf with his boss & another friend.  So during my lunch break, I had to put my power shopping skills to the test, and I did pretty darn good! I got him his birthday gifts and decorations in 1 hour! yay me! Once I got home, I had to rush and get everything decorated form him before he got home from golf.  And I succeeded!
He still has a Ninja Turtles love, so thats the theme I went with! :)
All of his birthday cards he received from his family, gifts from me & the San Francisco Giants baseball tickets Tobias got for Jon.  This will be my first Giants game, so I'm very excited! :)
Picture of us from Great America
Happy husband getting home to his surprises!
Jon facetiming with his family.  They were so cute and sang Happy Birthday to him :)
Being a nice wife and making the birthday boy the dinner he requested.  BBQ steak, asparagus and corn on the cob.
Happy Birthday boy ready to enjoy his dinner!
Finally put my new tripod to use.  Happy Birthday Mr. Burns!

Yay to being 29! And all the new adventures that are ahead of us!

We had a fun time celebrating Jon, but I just have to say, my birthday weekend was a little better! lol.  Post about that soon!

Love you forever Mr. Burns! You make my heart SO happy!

Birthday time!!!!

Guess what's going on tomorrow??!!! My 30th birthday! Oh goodness, I cannot believe that I will officially be a 30 something instead of a 20 something. I don't want to get old! lol.

The only plus side is that now people that assume I'm 19, will be even MORE shocked to know that I'm actually 30!

So my 30th birthday celebration starts tonight.  We have friends arriving from Portland to spend the weekend with us and celebrate, Koli + Kyle, and also my friend Courtney.

Tomorrow morning, we will be heading to Santa Cruz (on my actual birthday) and will be spending the day & night out there.  Then Saturday, well be back in San Jose.  This is all I really know about my birthday celebration, because my husband is awesome and has planned the entire weekend and has mentioned that he has some surprises for me too, and I cant wait to see what they are! Last year, he did such an amazing job with helping me celebrate my last year in my 20's (check out that post here), I can only imagine what this year will look like.

Ill be back next week with recaps from Jon's birthday and also mine!

Hope everyone has an amazing weekend!

Birthday Weekend part 1!!!!

Today kicks off Jon's birthday weekend! The Mr will be officially 29 on Monday, but we like to do things big so were going to start the celebration today :)  We always have a little birthday competition because we are 4 days apart SO it makes it a lil hard to give him the whole month! Lol. So he gets this weekend, and then the next weekend is all mine! Hehe.

Plans for this weekend are still a little up in the air, it's all up to him, but I know that we'll be doing some biking riding, maybe a visit to Great America, a fun dinner and of course a night out in the town, cuz that's the way we like to roll :)

Ill be back Monday OR Tuesday with the birthday recap :)

Our San Francisco Getaway

This past weekend Jon and I hit the road the San Francisco.  We plan on weekend around attending the Chipotle Cultivate Festival, but things didn't really go as planned! :)

On the road for our weekend adventure!
We got to our hotel at about 10:30 am and got checked in.  We found our hotel on groupon and got a great deal on it :)  It was a small & old building with lots of character.  Were used to staying at bigger hotels, so this was a fist.

Our little home for the night.
It was nice and sunny in San Jose, so I wore this outfit, which I really liked.  But once we started walking outside in SF, we had to turn around so I could change into jeans and a sweater, boo!
The poopy weather and the outfit change should of been an indication of what was ahead..... We started walking towards the park, where the festival was being held.  I told Jon that we should get a cab, since the Golden Gate park was 5 miles away, and he just blew it off thinking that walking the 5 miles to the park wouldn't be too bad.  YEA RIGHT! Half way there, we decided that we should try and hail a cab to the park, but did one drive by? NOPE! So we had to end up walking all the way. And it was cold and there were lots of hills.  We finally get to the parks entrance, and for some reason, silly lil Wendy thought that the park was small and that we had finally made it to the festival, NOPE! Once we got into the park, we had to walk about another half a mile to the festival.  By the time we made it into the park, I looked like this....
Glad Jon can just laugh at me when I'm being a brat :) I refused to look at him when he wanted to take my picture.
By the time we walked into the festival, Jon had blisters on his feet and he had to give me his sweater because it was SO cold!  We then proceeded to eat their delicious food and have a beer as a reward for all of our work! lol.
Enjoying our drinks and listening to the performers.
We only stayed at the park for about an hour because it was too cold, and I felt bad because Jon was just wearing a t-shirt since he was sweet enough to give me his sweater :) Guess how we got back to our hotel?  WE GOT A CAB! YAY! Thank goodness! I was so sick of being so cold!

Once we got back to our hotel, we cleaned up and got ready to go out to dinner.  We 1st stopped by a bar next door called "The Library" which actually looked like a library, and I loved it! It was so cozy and nice.  And I had my very 1st Bellini and it was yummy!

After our drinks, we WALKED to dinner, which was a block away, up a steep hill.  We headed to "Osso" steakhouse.  And it was SO good! I had crab for the 1st time and it wont be the last :)
Mr. Burns putting his bib on ready to eat some crab!
Look at the thing! So delicious!
Playing with my food!
Crab vs. Jon stare down! At this point, we were already full, because Jon also got a steak and I got a baked potato.
The crab may have won! lol
After dinner, we stopped by another bar next to our hotel named "Cantina".  They had really good drinks and all of their ingredients were fresh! Like if you asked for a mango drink, they put fresh mango into the glass and muddled it.  I got a jalapeño drink and it was so tasty! Jon wasn't a fan but I loved it!

Sunday morning, we were up early and headed back home.  We headed to "Bill's Cafe" for breakfast and mimosas, we love that place.  Their breakfast and mimosas are SO good!
I got cookies & cream pancakes and they were amazing! I don't usually get pancakes but ill be back for more! :)
After breakfast, Jon went and picked Miley up from the dog sitter (his coworker) and brought her home to mommy.  She was a very happy princess!
Look at that face!

The Newlywed Game!

So sad that the Newlywed Game is coming to an end! Even though I didn't link up as much as I wanted to, I had fun doing this link up! I love doing things like this, so when I look back on my blog in a year, I can see where Jon and I were in our lives.  So here we go!

My answers in purple, Jon's in blue!
1. What would your spouse be happy doing for hours on end?
Listening to music and finding new music to add to his ever growing collection
Playing games on her phone and reading a Jodi Picoult book.

2. If you had the money, what would you buy for your spouse today?
Our dream house! That what we both are dreaming of right now.
A house that we could live in and start a family

3. What show is your spouse currently loving on tv?
The NBA finals…
Right now it's Newlyweds but normally Teen Mom (I watch cooler shows than just teen mom! lol)

4. What is your spouse's favorite (all time or currently) youtube video? Share it with us!
Love this question! Jon and I usually spend most of our nights watching YouTube videos, it’s so much fun! Right now, his current favorites are these.  Which I enjoy watching as well :)  Adam Levine looks SO good in the first video!

Sophia Grace - girls just wanna have fun. Wendy is showing it to me as we speak. (Seriously, that lil girl can rap!)

5. Do you and your spouse plan on doing gifts for anniversaries based on traditions? Like the paper for one year etc.
We never plan on it, but I do bring it up to him when out anniversary is approaching.  Last year he did such an awesome job with the “Paper” gift, seriously, you should check it out here!
Yes. Every year we celebrate the gifts

6. How many kids does your spouse want? And if you could only have boys or girls which would your spouse prefer?
He wants 2, I want 3.  He wants our 1st born to be a boy, so I think he would be happy if we only had boys, more boys to watch and play sports with!
3.  We both rather have boys than girls. We don't want to deal w 3 Wendy's haha.  (Hahahaha Thanks husband!!  But its true, I would rather have sons than daughters)

7. Would your spouse want to live in the city, country or beach?
Well Mr. Burns is from the country, but the city is a little too busy for him, so I think he would be happy living in a quiet suburb close to the city :)
Beach for sure. We both love sunshine and the beach side views. (I do love the beach, that would actually be my ultimate dream place to live in!)

8. What is a book you and your spouse have read together that you would recommend to other couples?
We haven’t read a book together sadly.  We talk about wanting to but we just haven’t found one that interests us.  So if any of you have any recommendations, let me know! :)
I read funny, sci fi, or political books. She likes reading stories on real life issues. We don't read books together at least not yet! (Yea, we go to the bookstore and I get biographies and he walks out with comic books.l Lol!)

9. What is your favorite engagement picture? Wedding picture?
So hard to choose!
Engagement pictures:
My favorite...
Jon's favorite, gotta represent!
Wedding:
My favorite
Jon's favorite, which we have hanging on a canvas in our dining room.
10. What is one piece of advice you would give to those dating, engaged and or newly married?
Have fun together! Jon and I still often act like we are just dating because we still have fun together and flirt with each other like we did 5 years ago.  We live our lives together with this motto “Live your life to the fullest” and I think we are doing a pretty good job!
Always respect each others feelings.
If you truly love someone you will swallow your pride and work out the arguments, even when you believe you are right (Yea this is another great piece of advice!)

Random Thursday!

Today I'm linking up with Random Thursday, hosted by these lovely ladies!

This week topic is a fun and easy one!

So here I go!....
Memorial day, Jon and I and his boss Tom @ The San Jose Giants baseball game.  It was a lot of fun!
My new Hello Kitty toys added to my office decor :)

OH EM GEEE! I saw these Friday night, and I was in LOVE! They have scenes from the "Notebook" with the sweet quotes that go along with them.  There were 2 of them and I think I need them in my life! :)

Jon was very excited when we saw this Sunday as we were walking down the street.  We of course had to stop for a picture :)
Homemade coconut ice-cream!  This stuff is seriously amazing! Every Monday, food trucks take over a parking lot down the street from our place.  They always have different types of food, but the guy with the ice cream is always there.  I think ill be getting a pint of it next monday :)
New office layout! It still needs more pink & Hello kitty to be cute BUT it'll get there :)

Ikea trips with the husband! And fun rides on the carts :)

The looks of a successful trip :)  Now its time to get our place organized! YAY!
So that's about it for me! :) Hope everyone has a wonderful Thursday! We are so close to the weekend!
