Happy Monday!!

Guess who has a job and 1st day is today??!!! This girl! Yay!!! I am now an Employment Coordinator for a big pool company.

I had my 1st interview with them 2 weeks ago, and then I had a 2nd interview on Friday.  The interview was at 10:00 am Friday morning, and at 12:20, I received a call from my new boss offering me the job :)  So it was a GREAT way to kick off my weekend!

Friday night, Jon and I went out to dinner to celebrate, and then got home and had a FaceTime hanging out with our good friends, Janet & Phil, back in Oregon.  I think we FaceTimed for about 2 hours, and it was a lot of fun.  I love FaceTime, it definitely feels like you are hanging out with your friends, even if they are far away. We are planning a Vegas vacation to go see Britney Spears new Vegas show that starts in December.  Janet and I are lucky enough to have husbands that are willing to go to the show with us :)  We are planning our trip sometime in February, and I am SO excited for it!

Saturday morning consisted of breakfast, mimosas and a surprise from the husband with some pretty flowers :)

And no Saturday is complete without some college football! So, Jon's friend, Curtis came over to watch the Duck game with us.

Miley fell asleep towards the end of the game.  The Ducks were dominating the other team, so there wasn't much action.

Sunday, Miley had a vet appointment to get her vaccines updated.  As you can see below, she was a very happy doggie, until the vet came into the room and started messing with her, lol.  But really, she did a good job, and is a very happy and healthy doggie, which makes me a happy dog mommy!  And she got to come home with a new super cute dog collar :)

After Miley's appointment, Jon and I did a lil shopping to get me ready for my 1st day of work.  Ever since I left my job in Oregon, which was 3 yrs ago, I have had very casual jobs and very laid back dress codes.  Now with this new job, I'm entering a very professional work environment, so it's time to vamp  up my work wardrobe.  Any kind of shopping is fun, so i don't have a problem with that!

Well, that was our weekend! Hope everyone has a great day and wish me luck on my 1st day of work!

Weekend Update

I know i'm a day late with my update, but i'm here now to give a lil update :)

Friday was a big day for me, I had another job interview for a HR position with a pool company and it went amazing!!!! I seriously felt like I was gonna walk out of there with the job BUT they are just waiting on getting my background check clearance and they would like me to come back in for a 2nd interview this week.  So i'm pretty excited about this job, it sounds like a great job for me and a great opportunity to learn and grow.

Friday night, Jon and I had date night, so we headed out to a near by Mexican restaurant and had a great dinner and it was nice to finally sit down and just talk and have a good time.

Saturday was a laid back day, we spent our morning working on our tans in the pool, then we checked the mall out near our place and then we headed to a nearby bar to catch the UFC fight.  It was our 1st time at that bar and it wont be our last.  The servers and the food were great!

Sunday was a gerat day for me! Jon totally spoiled me :) We headed to the mall and I got to get my very 1st Michael Kors purse! Yay! We had a deal, where once I got a job, he would buy me one BUT I managed to get it before getting a job, lol.  Then we walked into Kate Spade and they were having a huge sale SO I got to walk out of there with a new purse too! Yay me!

Since I got spoiled, we went to sushi for dinner since Jon loves his sushi.  Jon was pretty disappointed with it, so we are still on the hunt for a great sushi place.

Now i'm just spending my week getting our place completely unpacked and keeping my fingers crossed that I get some good news this week!

My Pretty new car!

Back in March, I was lucky enough to FINALLY get a new car! Yay me!!!

Saturday morning, we were up bright and early and met up with our downstairs neighbor.  He used to manage a car dealership and has close connections to all the other car dealerships in town.  So he offered to take us car shopping and help us get the best deal possible, and boy, did he deliver!

I've had my eye on a specific car for about 3 weeks.  I had found it online, and kept it up on my laptop, every time I was playing on my laptop, I would look at the pictures of that car and dream about how cool it would be if it really was mine! But it never went further than that, because my original car is paid off, and that money that would be spent on a car payment, goes to shopping or whatever else I want, and who wants to give up that luxury???

Before Jon and I even headed out that morning, he said "I'm not promising that you'll get a new car today, were just going to look at options" and that's what I had in mind, because committing to a car payment is a big commitment!

As soon as we got to the Volkswagen dealership, I saw *MY* car, the one I had my eye on for weeks, just sitting there all pretty, just waiting for me :)  Fred, our neighbor, told us to play it cool and not act too excited about the car.  So I did my best to keep it cool.  We looked at the car I liked and then we also looked at other cars, but my heart was already set on *MY* car, I knew what I wanted and it was just sitting there waiting for me! So we finally test drove it, I had a turn and Jon also had a turn at the wheel. 

After the test drive we went inside to talk numbers, and this is where Fred, our neighbor, took over and rocked it for us! We couldn't of imagined the deal that we got.  They treated us like family at the dealership because of Fred.  I am SO happy that he offered to help us with this! So after a few hours, lots of hugs and high fives, I drove away in my new car! YAYAYAYAYA!!!!

My new car!!!!! lol, yea right! If I could of gotten this car, I would have! My dream is to own a pink car, and it WILL happen :)

The 1st thing to go into my new car was a Hello Kitty air freshener. 

My old lil buddy.  Ive had that car since I was 23, I'm going on 30 this summer.  You do the math...

I had to say goodbye to my lil car on Monday.  Its headed back to Oregon to my lil sister. 

It was a little scary to go from a small car to a lil SUV, but ive gotten used to driving it and I LOVE it! I feel so *cool* now :) I am so happy to finally have a *grown up* car.  I just made my very 1st car payment last night, my closet was sad but I'm a very happy girl!

I just gotta say, seat warmers are the BEST!!! I look forward to my lil seat warmers every morning :)

Oregon Friends

Last weekend Jon's good friend Rob came to visit us and we had a great time together!  Rob arrived Wednesday night, he was originally scheduled to arrived at about 9pm but didn't actually arrive until about 11:30pm because of his flight being delayed.  Since I had to work the next day, I didn't get a chance to see him that night.

The next day, we all headed over to buffalo wild wings for dinner and sports.

Friday, was our friend Tobias birthday, so we all headed out to downtown San Jose.

When Jose arrived to the bar we were at, they didn't want to let him in because he was just wearing a plain white shirt, you know, stupid bar rules, they ended up letting him go in, but I told him that if he still had any problems, he could wear my jacket, lol.  So we had to snap a picture because it fit him :)

Saturday we headed to the beach for lunch and then headed to Gilroy for some shopping at the outlets.

Sunday we had to say goodbye to Rob.  We had lunch at a sushi restaurant before dropping Rob off at the airport.

We had a great weekend having Rob visit.  We always love having friends and family visit.  Jon's lil brother is up next to visit us, he'll be arriving Thursday, so it's going to be another fun filled weekend!

Our Palm Springs Vacation!

Back in January, Jon and I headed to Palm Springs for 5 days with our good friends Janet & Phil.  Janet and I went to middle school and high school together, but didn’t start hanging out until after we graduated, funny how life works!  We were bridesmaids in each other’s weddings, and our husbands get along great! I love it!  We also referrer to each other as each other’s “Twin” :)

We arrived on a Saturday evening, so we just went out to dinner, to  a sports bar so the guys could watch the Blazers game, and then we spent the rest of the evening relaxing and hanging out in the hot tub.

The next day, Sunday, the guys golfed all afternoon, so Janet and I decided to go hiking.  We had so much fun, and it was so beautiful, I plan on doing a blog post all about our hike, but here is a lil sneak peek!

After golf and our hike, we went out for margaritas and a bromance ensued :)

Monday, we ventured out together as a group and headed to LA to go to Knott’s Berry Farm.  That was a long and fulfilled day, which will also be getting its own blog post!

Tuesday, guess what the guys did?  Yup they golfed, so Janet and I had a girls day with manis/pedies and some shopping.

I love that we had such a relaxing time on this trip, nothing was really planned and we just took each day as it came.  And it was great to spend some quality time with our good friends.  By Wednesday afternoon, Jon and I did not want to leave! This was our 1^st time in Palm Springs and it was just such a beautiful and relaxing place. Hopefully this trip turns into a yearly trip for the 4 of us!
