Feliz Cumplianos a mi mami!!!

Today is my mom's 60th birthday! I just wanted to write a special post to her and let her know that I love her and appreciate everything she has done to rise me and my little sister.  My mom and dad separated the summer after my freshman year in HS, so she was left to raise my little sister and I.  She did an amazing job! She worked her butt off to provide for us and she raised us in a home filled with LOVE! I love my mom so much, she is a strong and amazing woman! Thank you mom for everything you sacrificed for Michelle and I! I wouldn't be the person I am today if it wasn't for you!
I wish I could be home for her birthday so I can give her a hug and a special card, but I'm not, but I will be seeing her next week and I will make sure to hug her extra tight!

Love you forever mami!
I might of been a handful as a kid.....

Life and its curveballs!

Boy are we getting tested this week! With all of the stress of figuring out our move, packing up our home and saying goodbye to our friends, it seems like we are being tested to see how well we can handle all of this stress with a little more stress to deal with on the side!

Last night, Jon and I were hanging out relaxing, Jon was playing on my laptop when all of a sudden he starts saying "oh my god, oh my god" and freaking out.  I had no idea what was going on, then he just grabs his phone and just seems to jumbled to figure out what to do next, like he didn't know how to react to whatever it was that he saw online.  Well... he had just checked his back account and guess what? Someone stole his credit card information and decided to take $3,000 out of his account and buy Walmart gift cards online! Can you believe that???  Its such a terrible feeling seeing your money stolen right out of your account, especially at a time when we are trying to SAVE money and prepared for our move (which is in 8 days!)  So last night Jon got on the phone with wellsfargo, they froze all of his accounts, and now he has to deal with getting new cards and filing a fraud complaint.  Its just such terrible timing, and the worst thing about this?  This isn't the 1st time this has happened to him with his wells fargo accounts.

On top of all of this, we cant seem to be able to get ahead of our new landlady in San Jose.  I emailed her back on August 7th asking her if she could mail us our house keys before we start our drive down, she recently moved to San Fransisco, so unless she drives to San Jose when we arrive on Sept 1st, we cant get our house key any other way.
Anyway, she emailed me back on the 9th saying that she can mail the keys to us, but needed our current address, i email her back the same day with our address and thanking her.  Well, have we received the keys? NO! Jon emailed her on the 14th just checking in with her, and asking for a status as to when the keys might arrive, she never wrote back.  I emailed her yesterday morning, asking for a status update, no response.  Jon called her yesterday evening, no answer.  I called her today, no answer.  We are starting to worry.  I know that people are busy and we still have a few days before we make our move, but at least a email back! letting us know whats going on would be great! If things don't work out, i have no idea what we are going to do, we already gave her a security deposit, and we are relying on her to have a place to live.  I'm really hoping and praying that shes just been really busy and will respond to either one of us SOON!

But during all of this, Jon and I are trying to keep a positive attitude and are taking all of this day by day.  I know that everything will work out in the end (fingers crossed!)

We have God by our side!

Weekend update!

Jon and I had a fun filled weekend enjoying Seattle! Gotta try and take in as much of this city as we can before we move away.
Friday was my day off, which was spent packing and spending time with Miley.
Here she is working on her tan, she wants to be sure to be nice and tan before we arrive in California.
I also met up with Ainara Friday night for some dinner and drinks.  We went hung out in downtown Kirkland, and had dinner at "Cactus" They have the best margaritas in town.  I had a pineapple margarita, so yummy!
We shared this large platter of nachos.  So good!
Saturday, Jon and I enjoying the day together.  We went out for breakfast and then Jon suggested we go to the driving range.  He REALLY wants me to get into golf, so we can golf together.  So we went to the driving range to hit some balls and I gotta admit, i had a great time! And I was even able to hit the ball and get some good hits.  Jon was very  impressed.  I definitely want to go back again, I already asked Jon if we can go back today.  I'm really sore, but its SO much fun! If I get into this golf thing, Jon said we can get a pink set of clubs for me :) We did some research last night and guess what we found? A pink hello kitty set! I wont be getting that because its super expensive, but maybe one day if i get really good? :)
Working on my swing!
After the driving range, we decided to take advantage of the day and finally head into Seattle to ride the Ferris wheel.  Ive been wanting to do this since they opened it in June, so I was VERY excited it was finally happening! First we had to go home for an outfit change and check on Miley, then we headed to Seattle.
We parked a few blocks away from the pier, I was very excited when the Ferris wheel finally came into view!
Waiting in line.  We had to wait about 45 mins before it was finally our turn.
FINALLY on!
One of the views from the wheel
My handsome Mr. Burns
Another view from the wheel

The Ferris wheel ride was fun.  Its nothing too exciting, but the views are really pretty.  You are up there for about 10-15 mins.  Towards the end of the ride i was ready to get off and was starting to feel sick, BUT it was worth the wait and the money.  It was just another Seattle attraction I wanted to experience before we moved.  After the wheel, we had lunch on the pier.
The Burns Summer 2012
This lady would stand still as a statue and then scare people it was pretty funny
Jon and I thought this was pretty funny, so I had to take a picture.  The Washington Huskies and the Oregon Ducks are college football rivals, so we thought it was great that these 2 friends were from opposing teams, we don't see this very often, lol
After the wheel, we headed to Pikes place to walk around and to finally check out the "Gum Wall" something else that Ive been wanting to do since we have lived here.  Here is a little history of the gum wall that I found on wikipedia:
The Market Theater Gum Wall is a local landmark in downtown Seattle, in Post Alley under Pike Place Market. Similar to Bubblegum Alley in San Luis Obispo, California, the Market Theater Gum Wall is a brick alleyway wall now covered in used chewing gum. Parts of the wall are covered several inches thick, 15 feet high for 50 feet. The wall is by the box office for the Market Theater, and the tradition began around 1993 when patrons of Unexpected Productions' Seattle Theatresports stuck gum to the wall and placed coins in the gum blobs. Theater workers scraped the gum away twice, but eventually gave up after market officials deemed the gum wall a tourist attraction around 1999.  It was named one of the top 5 germiest tourist attractions in 2009.
It was pretty gross, and I didnt want to get too close to the wall.  We were only there for about 5 mins, I was afraid I would get too close and get stuck to the wall! lol
It does look pretty cool
Artwork on the other side of the wall
We did it! Now lets get out of here! lol
Before heading back home, we HAD to stop at the candy store for my Carmel apple! We cant visit Pikes place without stopping there!
I went with the cookies n cream apple this time.  So yummy! I don't think I've ever had a bad apple there!
Goodbye pikes place! Its been fun!
Sunday, Jon and I enjoyed a pretty low key day.  We drove to Redmond to have our final pizza at our favorite pizza place.  "Filo's" is seriously AMAZING! They use the best ingredients and high quality cheese, and it SO good!
Doesn't it look amazing!?
After pizza, we checked out some golf stores and then stopped for some froyo!
We ended our day with a nice walk with Miley and then Jon's cousin Mamie, her husband Dan and daughter Evie came over for a final visit before we move.
Miley was a happy girl walking off her leash, and she did a good job listening and staying with us.

Fridays Letters

Dear home: Can you please pack yourself?  I am so dreading packing up our life! Im going to miss living here.  Jon and I have some great memories with you! And living here has made our life in Seattle such a great experience!

Dear Mr. Burns,  I love you!!! Thank you for working your butt off and making this move a possibility! And THANK YOU for my wonderful surprise last night! Sorry I was a brat and refused to make the bed, which ended up ruining your surprise! BUT seeing you pull out the Hello Kitty build a bear that Ive been wanting for over a month now made me SO happy!!! Thank you baby! Now you get to sleep with 4 hello kitty's every night!!!! lol

Dear Miley, Soon you will be living a wonderful life in California! I hope you are as excited for the move as we are!  Im so happy that daddy bought you a purse, that you love, because it definitely helps with your car anxiety, which is great, because we have a long drive ahead of us! I think you like the bag because you feel like a princess sitting in there!

Moving.......

2 weeks from today, a moving truck will be pulling up to our house here in Washington and loading our home into the truck.  I cannot believe that Jon and I are actually moving to California SO soon.  This is something that we have always wanted and have always talked about, but now that its here, its a little scary but SO exciting.  We are ready for this, we are ready to settle down and build a new life in California.  I'm going to miss the fact that Seattle is just a quick 3 hour drive back to Portland to our family and friends.  We are no longer going to have the luxury of jumping in the car and making that drive back home.  We are seriously going to miss all of our friends and family so much!
Moving away and living in Seattle this past year and half has made us realize who our TRUE friends are and I am so thankful for those friends.  I know that even though we are moving even further away from them, they are still always going to be there for us.
I'm really going to miss my mom and my sisters, especially watching my niece's and nephews grow up.  It makes me sad that I wont be as close to my niece's and nephews as I always hoped for.  But I am going to try my best to keep a good strong relationship with them and I know that I can bribe them to come visit me during their summer vacations since ill be living in CALIFORNIA! lol.  And it also helps that we are near "Great America" and "Ragging Waters".
My mom and my sisters all live in the same town in Portland and about 5 mins away from each other, so me  moving to California has been hard for my mom, I know that shes really excited for us because she knows that this is what we want, but shes sad that we will be living so far away.

Enough with all these mushy feelings! lol.  Lets get excited about our new life in the SUNSHINE!
Here is the map of our area and everything that we will be living near. I know that life is going to be great here!
This is the floor plan to our new place.  Even though we are moving from a townhouse(2 levels and a big garage) to an apartment, I think we will have more "living" space at our new place. I'm extra excited for the walk in closets in BOTH rooms, no more sharing closet space with Jon!! :)

Janet & Phil's wedding!

Hi!!! I feel like I haven't been too involved with my blog these past few days!  Things are starting to get really busy for Jon and I since we only have 2 weeks until we move and we haven't really started to pack SO i really need to get started on that.
On top of that, I never have much to do at work, so that's when I blog, BUT I got to work yesterday to find out that my replacement's 1st day was yesterday too.  So I had to scramble AND my office was out in the hallway because we got new floors in my office and nothing was moved back in over the weekend, so yesterday was just a little crazy!

I just wanted to do a quick post with pictures from Janet & Phil's wedding from Saturday.  It was such a fun day, so glad that I got to be a part of their wedding!
