Thanksgiving 2014

Thanksgiving 2014 was such a great holiday for us! We got to not only spend it with our little Arizona family, but we also got to see our good friends, Chris & Ainara, who flew into Tucson from Seattle, to visit Chris's parents.

Well start off with Thanksgiving day.  We decided to take it easy, we slept in and just hung out at around the house, until I got started on dinner.  I love cooking, especially for family & friends.  What was on our Thanksgiving dinner menu?  Turkey, Mashed potatoes & gravy, bacon wrapped asparagus, mac & cheese, and green bean casserole. It was my 1st time making the bacon wrapped asparagus & green bean casserole, and they both turned out great, thank goodness! lol.  I was also very happy that I was able to find 90% of our dinner ingredients at Trader Joe's :P

Friday evening, Jon and I made our way to Tucson to spend the weekend with Chris & Ainara and Chris's parents.   We stayed with them until Sunday afternoon.  Friday, we all just hung out at their house, enjoyed some pizza and drinks.  Saturday, the boys headed to the golf course, and us girls went out to do some shopping and lunch & drinks.

When we all got back to the Sherwoods house, the boys hung out in the pool.  Then we all got ready for the evening festivities, FOOTBALL!!! Our college teams were playing their rivals, 1st up, with our Oregon Ducks & Oregon Beavers, of course, the ducks dominated and did a great job :)  Then it was time for the Washington State Cougars & Washington Huskies (boo)…. The cougs did not do so well, and got beat by the Huskies, but it was still a great night and a fun night of football.

We had such a great holiday weekend, it was great to catch up with our friends.  And Tucson is not a bad place, I love how cute it is :)

Memorial Day Weekend!

I'm back at work tired but with a smile on my face :)  I had such a wonderful Memorial Day weekend with my love.  

My little sister was out of town this weekend, so it was just Jon and I, and we got so much done around the house.

First of all, I was a very happy girl, when I came home for lunch on Friday and Jon was already home from his trip, yay! It was nice to have lunch together.   Unfortunately, I had to head back to work, but fortunately, I have an awesome boss, and he let me head home early!

I made Jon a welcome home note, and taped it on the front door :)

When I got home from work, Jon and I headed to Ace Hardware to buy more paint for my dressing room, 1 gallon of paint just wasn’t enough for the entire room.  After that, we decided to hit up a new bar for some happy hour and drinks.   I just love spending time with Jon, we always have so much fun together just sitting together and talking, especially when he’s been gone for an entire week.  We spent the rest of the evening hanging out at home.

Saturday morning, we hit the gym 1st thing in the morning then spent the rest of the day checking out stuff for the house.  Jon ended up getting a basketball hoop for the pool, which he has been wanting and I’m sure it’ll get a lot of use this summer!  We are still in search for a patio set, the one we have right now it just for 2 people and it’s TINY, we also need pool chairs.  Our backyard will eventually be a perfect little getaway.  After all of the running around, we rode our bikes to the park and we played some basketball, kind of, we just shot the ball around, but it was a good time :)  

Sunday, we finished painting my room, YAY!!! Then we spent most of the day outside at the pool, and Jon got to finally use the new basketball hoop, not only is it fun, but he also gets a great work out, win win!  

Monday we continued to work on the house.  We finished putting my room together, for now, which I LOVE! Ill post pics on my room soon :) We rearranged our living room, the way we had it set up originally just wasn’t working out, and I love the way it looks now :) I organized our kitchen, Jon did some yard work, we BBQ’ed for lunch and dinner, AND we spent some time in the pool.

My mom tough me how to make it when she was in town, so I made some last night for Jon and it turned out so yummy! I'm very proud of myself :)

I love our house and it just makes me so happy that this is OUR house; we have worked so hard and have sacrificed so much.  I feel so blessed and lucky to be married to such an amazing man.

Quick lil tour :)

Jon left to Oklahoma Sunday, so sunday night was me and Michelle's 1st night home alone in the new house, and neither one of us got any sleep!  I was just getting used to sleeping alone in our old place, and now its time to readjust!

Anyway, we have been getting lots of request for a look into our house.  Our place is still a work in progress and we still have boxes everywhere, but I thought I'd give you a peek inside our little home form the pics that were posted on Zillow.  The same pictures that we originally saw, that made us fall in love with the place.

We have 4 bedrooms upstairs, and the 5th one in the basement.  We have a bathroom in our bedroom and theres also another bathroom in the hallway, which my little sister uses.

Our master bath.  To the right of this is a walk in closet, which is a little small, so Jon is using that for himself. 

This bedroom is turning into my walking closet!!  Im in the process of getting it put together, and I love it already!!!  I want to paint it and can't wait to make it into my girly dressing room

This room is turning into my craft room / reading room.  Im excited to finally have a craft room put together, without having to dig into a bunch of boxes!  We can also use this room as a guest room :)

And thats our new home :)  Jon and I feel so blessed to have had the opportunity to purchase this house!  We are so excited to finally settle down and not have to worry about moving anytime soon :)  We are looking forward to all of the new adventures the homeownership entails!
