Happy Monday!!

Guess who has a job and 1st day is today??!!! This girl! Yay!!! I am now an Employment Coordinator for a big pool company.

I had my 1st interview with them 2 weeks ago, and then I had a 2nd interview on Friday.  The interview was at 10:00 am Friday morning, and at 12:20, I received a call from my new boss offering me the job :)  So it was a GREAT way to kick off my weekend!

Friday night, Jon and I went out to dinner to celebrate, and then got home and had a FaceTime hanging out with our good friends, Janet & Phil, back in Oregon.  I think we FaceTimed for about 2 hours, and it was a lot of fun.  I love FaceTime, it definitely feels like you are hanging out with your friends, even if they are far away. We are planning a Vegas vacation to go see Britney Spears new Vegas show that starts in December.  Janet and I are lucky enough to have husbands that are willing to go to the show with us :)  We are planning our trip sometime in February, and I am SO excited for it!

Saturday morning consisted of breakfast, mimosas and a surprise from the husband with some pretty flowers :)
Slaving away making breakfast! lol
Pretty colorful flowers from Mr Burns
My scruffy dog! We are finally getting her groomed Wednesday, thank goodness!
And no Saturday is complete without some college football! So, Jon's friend, Curtis came over to watch the Duck game with us.

Miley hanging with the boys watching the game
Supporting my Duckies!
Miley fell asleep towards the end of the game.  The Ducks were dominating the other team, so there wasn't much action.
Sunday, Miley had a vet appointment to get her vaccines updated.  As you can see below, she was a very happy doggie, until the vet came into the room and started messing with her, lol.  But really, she did a good job, and is a very happy and healthy doggie, which makes me a happy dog mommy!  And she got to come home with a new super cute dog collar :)
After Miley's appointment, Jon and I did a lil shopping to get me ready for my 1st day of work.  Ever since I left my job in Oregon, which was 3 yrs ago, I have had very casual jobs and very laid back dress codes.  Now with this new job, I'm entering a very professional work environment, so it's time to vamp  up my work wardrobe.  Any kind of shopping is fun, so i don't have a problem with that!

Well, that was our weekend! Hope everyone has a great day and wish me luck on my 1st day of work!

Weekend Update

I know i'm a day late with my update, but i'm here now to give a lil update :)

Friday was a big day for me, I had another job interview for a HR position with a pool company and it went amazing!!!! I seriously felt like I was gonna walk out of there with the job BUT they are just waiting on getting my background check clearance and they would like me to come back in for a 2nd interview this week.  So i'm pretty excited about this job, it sounds like a great job for me and a great opportunity to learn and grow.
Friday night, Jon and I had date night, so we headed out to a near by Mexican restaurant and had a great dinner and it was nice to finally sit down and just talk and have a good time.
Saturday was a laid back day, we spent our morning working on our tans in the pool, then we checked the mall out near our place and then we headed to a nearby bar to catch the UFC fight.  It was our 1st time at that bar and it wont be our last.  The servers and the food were great!
My yummy dinner.  Gouda mac & cheese. So great!
Sunday was a gerat day for me! Jon totally spoiled me :) We headed to the mall and I got to get my very 1st Michael Kors purse! Yay! We had a deal, where once I got a job, he would buy me one BUT I managed to get it before getting a job, lol.  Then we walked into Kate Spade and they were having a huge sale SO I got to walk out of there with a new purse too! Yay me!

My new babies!

Since I got spoiled, we went to sushi for dinner since Jon loves his sushi.  Jon was pretty disappointed with it, so we are still on the hunt for a great sushi place.

Now i'm just spending my week getting our place completely unpacked and keeping my fingers crossed that I get some good news this week!

Weekend Fun

Jon and I got to enjoy our 1st real weekend together here in Phoenix, and we had a great time! :-)

First of all, my interview on Friday went really well! I wont hear back until next week if I made it to round 2 of the interviews, but Im pretty sure i made it! The position is a perfect position for me, so I'm pretty excited about it!
What I wore to my interview.  Group texts are the best, my girlfriends back home helped me put my look together :-)
Now back to our weekend..... Friday night, Jon came home, YAY!  So we had a night quite night at home, with pizza and wine.
Miley was very happy her daddy was home.
Saturday was centered around sports.  The Duck game was on at 12:30, so we watched that at home and had one of Jon's old college roommate over.
Miley and I in our Duck gear.

After the game, we hung out at home for a bit and then headed over to "Sand Bar" to watch the Mayweather/Canelo fight.  Im still sad that Canelo lost, boo!!!
Husband and I waiting for the fight to start!
Jon & Curtis.  Its nice to have an Oregon friend here :0)
Sunday was a pretty sunny day, so we took full advantage of it! Of course our morning consisted of football, but then we went on a bike ride through our neighborhood and then jumped into the pool and had some fun in our backyard.

I love our backyard! :0)
After hanging out in the pool we played some darts, and enjoyed some beer

After the sun went down, I dished up our very 1st home cooked meal in our new place, yummy!!!
Mr. Burns was a very happy man :0)
Now were back to Monday, boo! Jon is back at work and I am back at sending out my resume in hopes that I find a job soon!

Happy Monday friends!

Big Day Today!

Jon and I have been Arizona residents for 2 whole weeks today and life has been great.  Last week I got started on my job search and had a phone interview on Tuesday, which I was super nervous about because I'm much better with in person interviews, but they liked me and I have an actual interview today! Yay!!!! I'm pretty excited about it too! Its an admin position at a local nursing school working with the college president.  So wish me luck!!!! The only downfall about the position is that its a 30 min commute.  I had mentioned to Jon that I wanted to find a job closer to home because of gas prices.  But if its a good job with good pay, then its worth it.  I had a long commute to my job in California, so I'm already used to it :)

Another exciting thing about today is that Jon comes home!!! YAYAYAYAYA!!! I've been home alone all week and I'm ready to have my husband back! He's been in California all week for work, getting trained on his new position.  I think once I have a job, it wont be so hard having him gone all week, but right now I'm not a fan.  But with his new position, he will be traveling every month, so I'll have to get used to this quick!

Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!

Our Move to Arizona!

Well Jon, Miley and I made to Arizona and are now adjusting to our new life! And as you can see, not only did we change the state that we live in, I also decided to change the look of my blog :)  I love the way it turned out! It sums up our life so well! And I of course have to thank Kristen from Whisky Tango Foxtrot! She is so easy and fun to work with.  I am a very happy customer!

Now back to our moving adventure.  Of course, Jon and I try to plan everything to make sure that big events run smoothly, but of course that NEVER happens! lol.  The day before the movers arrived, they called us and told us they would be arriving between 8:00 - 9:00am.  So Jon and I were up bright and early ready to get to work, well they didn't actually arrived until 10:30, but they happen to have brought a ginormous semi truck with them, when Jon had already told them that it wouldn't fit in the apartment complex.... So they had to leave and get a smaller truck.  We didn't actually get to work on moving everything out until about 12:30.  I did feel bad for the movers because we lived on the 3rd floor of our apartment complex, so they poor guys had to run up and down those stairs with boxes and furniture and it was a hot day out, but we got it done!

That night Jon and I slept in our empty apartment, on an air-mattress.  Friday morning, we were up and on the road my 5:15am.  Jon and I took turns driving, I drove the first 5 hrs of our trip, which im glad that I did because on Jon's half of the drive, we had to drive through a dust storm which was pretty scary!
The pretty views on our drive to Arizona, I didn't realize how pretty the desert truly is.
Miley did a great job on this trip.  She did not have any car anxiety and was such a good girl.  So proud of my baby!
Family pictures on our 11 hour road trip!
Our road trip companions!
The dust storm after we drove through it
I was very happy once we were out of it!
Miley was such a passenger seat hog!
We arrived to our new home in Arizona at 4:00pm friday, and we were SO happy!!! I was even happier when I open up our fridge and saw this from our new landlord!
Champagne & chocolate, yes please! :)  She also gave us tickets to a nature park near by.  We are very lucky to have such an awesome landlord!
Jon and I have already found his "go to" bar for the Oregon Duck games.  The bar is part of the alumni association, so they have lots of goodies and raffles during the games which is always fun.  They also have the whole downstairs of the bar reserved for only duck fans and food specials during the games.

Miley loves the backyard and she really enjoys laying out in the sun.  There have been plenty of times when I let her out to go potty, and instead of going potty, she lays down in the grass and enjoys the sunshine, so sometimes I have to remind her to go potty before she can relax, lol.
She is usually pretty attached to my side, but with this move, she is 100xs more attached to me.  Its really cute, but she does make it pretty hard to get anything done, I love her sweet lil cuddles!
Hanging with me while I look for  a job.
Jon wanted to jump into the pool one night and we found this lil guy enjoying the pool also.
Jon and I have been enjoying our new place, especially the backyard.  Jon already loves living here and is very happy with his new position.  We are very happy with this move and excited to explore our new surroundings!

Jon is out of town this week training for his new position.  Traveling is a big part of his new position, so I'm gonna have to get used to this, sad! :(  But hopefully this will give me more time to blog and craft!
