I got home today to a Valentines day package from my Valentines Day Card swap partner, Adriana from Little Petite.  She sent me the sweetest card and the yummiest treats! Seriously, chocolate filled strawberry marshmallows?! I had no idea that these existed! lol.
Melu, from Only a Flight Away and Summer, from Famous in My Own Mind, hosted the card swap.  I'm so glad that they did this, its always fun to send and receive things in the mail! And of course, the plus of meeting new people from all around the US.

Food Gawker Recipe

Last week I found a yummy recipe on The Food Gawker and I wanted to share it with everyone.  This is the easiest crockpot recipe I have done and it turned out SO good!

I made Crockpot Chicken Tacos and this is a recipe that will stick around in our household.  All you need is 3 things:
  • Chicken breast
  • Jar of salsa (16 oz)
  • Packet of taco seasoning
I put the salsa and taco seasoning in first and stirred it together.  Then I put the chicken in, the recipe i found called for 6 but i only used 2 and it turned out fine.

The check breast were frozen when i put them in.  I let it cook for 6 hours.
When i got home form work the house smelled SO good! I couldn't wait for dinner time!  Once the chicken was cooked, all i had to do was use a fork and it easily shredded.  I then just stirred the shredded chicken and the salsa and dinner was ready! So easy!
I made tacos with corn tortillas and sour cream.

They were so good that we had them for dinner 2 days in a row.  You can also use the chicken in burritos and salads.  So glad that i found this recipe!

Weekend Recap

Jon and I has a pretty low key weekend.  Lets start off with Friday

I had a valentines craft night with Ainara.  We had a lot of fun!
We found cute heart shaped frames at Michael's for $1 and we painted them.  I also found a really cute valentines day gift idea on pinterest, so i decided to  make that for Jon too.
Our craft table ready for the fun!
More craft supplies

I decided to go with the Oregon Ducks theme with Jon's picture frame, so he can put it in his man cave or even put it on his desk at work.  It was pretty hard painting that "O" but I think it turned out pretty well :)

Working on our "52 reasons why i love you" deck of cards.

This deck of crafts was really fun and easy to make! All you need is:
  • deck of cards
  • single hole punch
  • construction paper (used to write our reasons and to glue onto each card)
  • Card stock to used on the front and back of the deck
  • Glue stick
  • Binder rings (I found them at Office max)
I'm excited to give this to Jon on Tuesday.  He's going to love it!.  We didn't get a chance to finish the deck of cards or to even start on our valentines day cards, so ill be back tomorrow night to show you our finished products :)  I love our Friday night craft nights.  It such a great start to the weekend!

Jon and I were up early on Saturday and got our taxes done and then went out to breakfast.  Then we headed to the mall and we found my valentines day outfit, yay! :)  I love shopping with Jon, he's always a big help!
We decided to head to the pizza bank for dinner, and i got an Italian soda, so yummy!!! The service sucked BUT the food and my drink were good!
Yummy!
My love!
We ended the night with a slumber party in the living room and "The Goonies" Great way to end our day!
Today has been very low key, we gave Miley a bath and did house chores.  I also made some yummy Oreo cake pops.  Melu from Only a Flight Away posted about them earlier this week so i decided to try it out!
This is what i used:
  • Chocolate candy melts
  • Pack of Oreo's (I didn't used the whole pack)
  • Popsicle sticks
  • cream cheese (about 2 spoonfuls)
  • Food processor

Put the cookies in a ziplock then crush them as much as you can
This is what it looked like after the crushing
In the food processor, grind until it looks like....
This! And then add a spoonful of cream cheese and grind some more, until its all mixed today.
Put them in a bowl and start making little balls.  Mine come out to be 12 Oreo pops
I put them on a cookie sheet linked with wax paper and then put in the freezer for 20 mins.
Once the pops were ready, i melted the chocolate.
I heated them in the microwave for about 1:00, stirred and then put them in again for about :30 seconds.  Once the chocolate was melted, i dipped the Popsicle stick in chocolate and then pushed them into the Oreo pop.  Then i dipped them each in the chocolate and decorated and then placed them onto a form base to cool and dry.
my final product! The turned out so cute and yummy!

Our Love story

I'm liking up with From Mrs. to Mama to share me and Jon's love story

1. How long have you and your significant other been together?
We have been together for 4 years

2. How did you meet? {What's your "love" story?}
Jon and I met through a mutual friend (our best man, David).  One night David called me and asked me join him and his girlfriend downtown Portland.  David had also invited Jon, we hit it off that night, but didn't exchange numbers until about a month later.  Since that day, we have been attached at the hip.

3. If married, how long have you been married? If not, is this the guy you hope to marry? {do tell}
We have been married for a little over 6 months.  I'm so happy to be married to my best friend!
6 month anniversary date night

4. If you are married, where did you get married at? Big or small wedding? If not, where would you like to get married? And will it be big or small?
We got married in a vineyard in Salem Oregon, Zenith Vineyards.  It was a big traditional wedding, our wedding story is here. It was the princess wedding I had always dreamed of!

5. Do you have any nick-names that you call one another? Do share!
We have many!
We call one another these: baby love, baby, babe.
I call him this: Burnzie (our last name is Burns), boyfriend (i still call him this! lol), lovie
He calls me: Baby doll, lover

6. Name 3 things you love most about your honey.
I love how he is such a hard worker. He always puts me first, and he is my comedian that can always make me laugh.

7. Tell us how he proposed? Or your ideal proposal?
He told me that we would be going for walk and to "get pretty" because my hair was a mess.  I didn't see a point in getting pretty for a walk, so i went on the "walk" with my messy hair.  We went to a view point in Portland. I wanted to get a picture of the both of us, so he went and asked a stranger to take out picture.  He also told that stranger that he would be proposing, so as i stood there to get my picture taken, he turned me to face him and got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. I was so shocked, the only thing i could do was laugh! It was so sweet and I'm so happy that our moment was captured.

8. Is he a flowers and teddy bear kind of guy for v-day, or strawberries, champagne, and rose petals?
He does both, but i get flowers and teddy bears more often.

9. Are you a sunset dinner on the beach kind of girl, or pop a movie in and relax on the couch?
I'm a big romantic and so is he, so we are totally a sunset dinner on the beach couple.

10. Tell us one thing you'd like to do with your significant one day. If you could do anything? Go anywhere?
Travel to Paris or Greece! Hopefully someday we will travel to both places!

11. Tell us what you plan on doing on this Valentine's Day.
We are going to a stake house in downtown Seattle.  I cannot wait!

12. Are you asking for anything this Valentine's day?
I REALLY want a pink emerald ring, but I'm happy with whatever he gets me :)  I'm sure Hello Kitty will be Incorporated in whatever it is.

13. Give us one piece of advice of keeping a relationship strong and full of love.
Communication.  Being able to communicate to each other how you are feeling and respecting one anther's feelings.

14. Show us a picture of what love means to you.
