Pen-Pal

I am so excited! I just signed up for the pen-pal match up with Amira over at Shades of Gray.  Im super excited for this, i love getting letters and notes in the mail.  I used to have a few pen-pals when we 1st moved to Oregon for quite a few years with my friends in California and my cousins, but we grew up and it all just stopped.  So i can't wait to get started with this! Anyway, we have another snow day today, the weather was so bad, that Jon has stayed home too.  Its currently snowing too.  Its pretty cool, i love that i work at a school and get paid snow days, super! Unfortunately, Jon has to use in personal time, but i am much happier with him safe at home with us, than out there in the road with the risk of getting stuck somewhere.  And as you can see, Miley is very happy that her daddy is home with us today.

Crafting while snowed in

I woke up to snow again this morning.  It didn't look too bad, the roads in our neighborhood were clear, but Jon didn't want me to risk it and stay home.  So i emailed my bosses and told them that i would be staying home.  Thank goodness that i stayed home because it started to snow at around 9:00 and it didn't stop for a few hours.  The snow was getting so bad, that Bastyr closed at noon, that defiantly told me that i made a good decision to just stay home to begin with!
Since its my 2nd day in a row of staying home, i decided to get our place decorated and ready for Valentines day with the few craft supplies that i have at home.  I also put wedding pictures in picture frames and put a few of them up.
1st i put up a wall chandelier that Jon bought me at Target last week, i don't think its up straight BUT it looks cute right? lol. Jon and I will just have to take it down and put it back up straight.

 Once i put the chandelier up, i got started on my valentines day crafts.  I first cut out 64 squares from pretty craft paper.  Jon and I are starting a new tradition for valentines day.  We will write a love note to each other everyday and put them a jar (I'm using vases from our candy bar from our wedding) Pretty much each note where start with "What i love about you is...." and on Valentines day we will read them to each other :)  We did this for thanksgiving, but we wrote what we were thankful for and it was so fun to do.  And its going to be great to look back at everything we wrote as years go by.

I put the cut out squares in a heart shaped bowl.  We will put our love notes in these vases.

Our mantle, with my heart garland i made.  I stringed it together with tulle.  I love all of our wedding pictures and how our mantle looks! About that little dog figuring, Jon got it for me for Christmas.  Its supposed to be Miley :)  The figuring is wearing a crown, heels, blinging earrings and necklace, and the stash says "Princess Pooch" hahahaha, i love it and its totally Miley :) She is definitely my little princess

 When Jon got home, we decided that he should move his car to the top of the hill since the roads weren't too bad, so off he went.  He had to scrape all the snow off of his car, since its been sitting in the snow for about 3 days.

I think he needs to wash his car....

Snow day & baking

I had today off, thankfully, because its not pretty outside.  Jon was good and headed out to get to work.  Thankfully we live near 2 of his coworkers, so they all carpooled.  We are unable to drive our car out of the neighborhood because we live down a big hill.  I pretty much just hang out with Miley and i also made some yummy strawberry cookies :)

I also did some online shopping, which is kinda getting out of control, its just so fun getting goodies in the mail! Anyway, i got these and i LOVE them!!! I cannot wait to wear these out, maybe for valentines day, i just need to find a dress now.

More snow

It was another snowy day today.  I didn't expect to see so much snow this morning.  As i was heading downstairs, this is what i saw out the window...

It made me pretty happy to wake up to a winter wonderland.  Miley wasn't too excited to go outside to go potty, she does not like the cold.  Poor doggie, we need to move to a sunny place to make her happy! lol.  While i was making breakfast for Jon and I, he told me to sit on the couch and close my eyes, i had NO idea what he was doing, but i did as i was told :)  When i opened my eyes, this was sitting in front of me:

He is too cute! And our 6 month wedding anniversary isn't until the 24th but he just couldn't wait to give it to me.  I had no clue what it could be, so i quickly opened it :)

Seriously!!! How sweet is he??!!! I of course had to shed a few tears, i couldn't believe it.  He did such a great job with this!  He stayed up late for a few days to get this done behind my back.  How did i get so lucky to have such a sweet & thoughtful husband?! I love him so much!
Anyway, after all of that, we decided that we should venture out of the house and walk to the sports bar near our place.  There was so much snow on the ground, that i decided to take Miley out and see what she thought of it.  She DID NOT want to walk in the snow, i had to drag her into the snow to make her walk in it, lol.  How cute does she look with her little pink vest!?

After torturing Miley with the snow, Jon and I ventered out into the snow.  We googled the distance from our place to the bar and its 1.5 miles, so we were prepared for the adventure!  The walk was SO pretty! I kept stopping and taking pictures because it was just so beautiful outside.  I love where we live and the seeing it in the snow makes me love it so much more!  Isn't so pretty??!!! I love it! The walk was so beautiful and it really wasn't too cold out.  Im glad that we decided to leave the house.  It probably took us about 45 mins to get to "Tony's", so it wasn't bad at all.  Once we got to tonys, we ordered some drinks, nachos and watched the Greenbay\Giants game, i am so sad that green bay lost :(  I really like Aaron Rodgers and i want them to make it to the Super Bowl :(

 After Tony's we walked to Safeway to pick up some things, we always have tortillas at home and of course i need wine if I'm going to be snowed in! lol

today was definitely an adventure and I'm so happy that we ventured out :)  And everything was great, until we were a few houses away and Jon slipped, lol.  Thank goodness the bottle of wine didn't break! lol.  Now we are nice and warm at home, drinking my wine and watching some TV.  I have tomorrow off but Jon has to go to work, hopefully its not bad out there tomorrow.
