Our weekend in Pendleton

I already wrote about Jon's high school reunion, if you haven't read it, check it out here.

While we were in Pendleton, we got to spend some time with Jon's grandma and aunt Rita.  We arrived into town on Thursday night, and we were up bright and early on Friday morning because Jon had to work.  Even though we were away from his office, Jon had to visit some of his customers that live in eastern Washington.  Miley and I tagged along with him and we got to get a look at Kennawick.  Kennewick, WA is about an hour away from Pendleton, its the closest town with a mall and target.  That's the town Jon and his family would do their clothes shopping.  We spent our morning with Jon working, and then spent the rest of the afternoon back home with Jon's grandma before we headed out for the reunion.
Jon's grandma has old Pendleton Round up posters in the basement
She also has cute little cowboy decorations like this :)
This is what Miley did while Jon was working, she has a rough life
We took Miley on a walk while in Kennewick, which i guess was enough to put her to sleep the rest of the ride home.  This is how we always ride in the car together.  I just love her!

Arriving into Pendleton.

This market brings lots of memories back to Jon.  He, his dad and brother made many trips here for their delicious corn dogs, i still haven't had the chance to try one, but i hear they are amazing.
Jon's grandma looking through our wedding book.  She also talked to us about the day she married Jon's grandpa, they got married in 1946!  So sweet!
Saturday, we went out to lunch with Jon's grandma and aunt.  After lunch, we met up with Jon's history teacher, Mr. Cary (from the night before), and he gave us a tour of Jon's old Middle school, it was a lot of fun being able to walk through the school and hear his stories of being a student there.
The cute organe juice glasses his grandma has, i love cute little glasses!
We went to lunch at Abby's.  They have awesome pizza! Jon used to work here :)
Jon's middle school.  I have never seen a school SO bright!!! lol
Reminiscing...
Mr. Cary took us into his classroom, the exact same classroom that he taught in when Jon was his student.  Jon had fun being able to see it.  I guess many things have'nt changed in there since he was a student
I thought the posters were funny.  My favorite: The hurrider I go, the behinder i get. lol
I cant believe that these are still around! I remember these from when i was in school
The 1st house Jon lived in when he was born
Even from far away, you can still see that bright yellow school!
The Rainbow Cafe, we always end up at this bar when we are in town.
This street is considered the downtown part of town.
How ADORABLE are these!!!! I want these for my future daughter!
And these for my future son! :)
While walking around downtown, we stopped at a cute little ice cream shop and i got a rainbow sherbet float, it was really good and refreshing!
These signs are all over the town, i think they are cute :)
Sunday we woke up to a delicious waffle and eggs breakfast from Jon's grandma.  We always look forward to her waffle breakfasts when we are visiting :)  While Jon's grandma was at church, Jon and his aunt Rita watched home videos of Jon growing up and of his grandpa.
Jon's grandpa passed away when Jon and I were only dating for about 2 months, so I never got to meet him, we really enjoy watching old videos of him, i wish i could of met him!
Jon's grandma is too cute.  I love how she set the table, especially her napkins :)
After spending most of the morning watching home videos, Miley and I got a little bored and decided to take a nap
Goodbye picture with grandma Burns and Aunt Rita
The 3 of us with the original Mrs. Burns :)
The drive home wasn't too bad, except that Miley's car anxiety was worst than usual!
look at her little paws holding onto my arm for dear life.  I feel so bad for her when she gets like this :(
I love Selena! Jon and I spent most of the car ride home signing along to her songs, even though they are in Spanish, Jon makes an attempt to learn them.  I was teaching him the lyrics to "Bidi bidi bom bom" it was so funny, but he did a pretty good job learning the choruss! I love that he embraces my culture!
Road trip essentials!
We had a great weekend in Pendleton, I cannot wait until we go back for another visit!
