Mother's day part 2

Today Jon and I spent Mother's day with my mom and sisters.  We had such a great day! Wonderful family get together's like this make me miss living in Portland so much more! I did not want to drive home today!  We spent the day outside enjoying the sunshine.  We had a carne asada and my mom also made posole, which I love! I haven't had posole in a long time, so i filled up on that.
My youngest nephew zeek, such a poser :)
Me and my little sister Michelle, I usually refer to her on here as ChiCha (Family nickname for her)
The 3 of us
I gave my mom her Mother's day gifts and she LOVED them. She was too cute when she was opening her necklace, because she had NO idea how special it was. She didn't have her glasses on so she didn't even notice that our names were on it.
Reading her card.  She commented on how she was hoping it was one of my homemade cards.  I never realized how much people actually enjoy receiving my homemade cards, made me happy to hear and I'll make sure to make special cards for everyone again :)
My nephew Felipe with Miley
I love that I was able to capture her reaction to the necklace once I explained to her what was written on it.  She was SO happy! It was so cute! She wanted to cry, she loved it so  much.  I really wanted to give her something special and I think I did a pretty good job :)
Happy mama!
She has been asking me for months to have Jon make her a book of our wedding, SO she got her book.  Jon also made the same book for him mom :)

Since it was such a nice day out, Patty decided to let the kids have a "little" water fight. What was supposed to be a small water fight with the kids turned into a huge water fight between everyone! My mom and I are the only ones that really got out of it without getting too wet! There were buckets of water being dumped on people and water balloons popping on peoples heads.  It was so much fun and funny to watch

My baby and I relaxing in the shade
Love my husband!
My little sister and my niece Elli were gone during the water fight because they had left to pick up my nephew.  Well that didn't save them from getting soaked.  While they were gone, we filled water balloons, and then my brother in law Mike and Jon got onto the roof with buckets of water and we waited for them to arrive....

Preparing for their arrival

And then THIS happened! hahahahaha.  My niece was smart to not come outside, but my little sister just walked straight outside and got soaked! I love that i captured this moment so well! I love Ellie's reaction in the background, lol
After the water fight we spent the rest of the afternoon enjoying the weather and hanging out.

Mom, me, and Miley
The sisters.  My oldest sister Monica is missing, but the rest of us are here.  Angie (2nd oldest) Michelle (youngest) Me, Mom & Patty (3rd oldest)

Michelle, me, Mom, Patty, Angie, and my niece Maggie who is also a mama to a cute little 1 year old.  Maggie is Angie's oldest daughter.
Today was a ton of fun, and leaving was hard, but we hit the road back to Washington at 5:00.  It was a nice sunny ride.  Miley was exhausted, she also had a fun weekend running around with her cousins.  She was too tired to even have any kind of car anxiety, she pretty much slept the whole ride home.
Such a mama's girl.  Her spot on our trip home.
This is not the best picutre of the necklace BUT you get the idea.  It says, Monica, Angie, Patty, Lupita, Michelle. I of course forgot to get a picutre of it, so my sister send me this.
