The link for the recipe is here.
Here is what you need:
-3/4 cup nonfat Milk
-1 Egg
-1 cup Peanut Butter, smooth
-2 1/4 to 2 1/2 cups Whole Wheat Flour
-1 tablespoon Baking Powder
I of course don't follow directions very well and had baking soda instead of baking powder, ugh! But we used it anyway and everything turned out fine.
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the milk, egg and peanut butter
Add in the flour and baking powder to make a very stiff dough, using your hands to work in the last of the flour if necessary. (Paula’s note: as a general rule, most homemade dog biscuits do well with 1 part liquid to 3 parts dry. You can customize the recipe by adding and subtracting ingredients your dog likes.)
This is what it should look like
I have lots of cookie cutters but none are bone shaped. So we went with a cat, hearts and a star |
Flour a work surface and roll out dough to a 1/4” thickness. Cut into desired sizes depending on the size of your dog.
How cute do they look?
Miley was VERY excited! she could smell the yummy peanut butter and was going a little crazy |
Licking her chops, ready for her treat. |
Turn biscuits over and bake for an additional 15 minutes.
Remove from oven and allow to cool completely before storing in an airtight container. Bodine’s Dog Biscuits can also be stored in the freezer for up to 3 months. (we may have used too much floor during the rolling process, oops!)
As you can see, the treats turned out GREAT and Miley was a very happy girl! At 1st she wasn't too sure, shes kind of a diva when it comes to treat, but she ended up loving them. Ainara has a black lab named Barkley and he loved his treats too.
What a great idea! And I love your pink mixer... I must find one :)
