January
Jon and I had just packed up our lives and left EVERYTHING that we knew behind in Oregon. Never in my life did i think that i would one day live in Washington. Jon and I arrived in our new apartment and life on Dec 30th 2010, and we rang in the new year by going out to dinner and toasting at midnight. We still didn't even have cable, so we couldn't even watch the ball drop, but we made the best out of our situation and had a great time.
- Jon started his new position as manager of the Washington Bisco office.
- Was told that he would get a company car with his new position, BUT it had not arrived yet, SO we continued to carpool and use my car.
- I started my job search, which was exciting but also pretty scary for me. I left behind a job i never thought i would leave, so it was really hard to jump back into the job search. By the end of the month, i had landed a awesome job at Nintendo, well i thought it was going to be awesome! lol
- We celebrated 3 years together as an engaged couple :)
February
Wedding planning was in FULL swing! this month pretty much consisted of trips to Portland to plan our wedding, i also picked my wedding dress up, which i was VERY excited about!
March
- More wedding planning and more trips to Portland.
- I was having a REAL hard time adjusting to life in Seattle and my new job, i actually started to REALLY hate my job and even considered returning to Portland and to my old position.
- Jon FINALLY got his company car!!! We were so excited and happy about this. He had been working very hard at job with his new role.
- Jon got an Ipad, which made him very happy :)
- We started to work with a travel agent to get our honeymoon planned.
- We did our catering tasting and ordered our wedding cake!
- We had visitors! Holly, David, Rob & Courtney.
April
- We ordered our wedding invitations
- Jon bought me a sewing machine!
- Jon spent a week in California for training
- The Reeds visited us, Rob & Courtney also spent another weekend with us
- Miley turned 1 and got a pink Mohawk for her birthday :) I also made her a cute little tutu dress to wear on her big day.
- Pastor Frisinger agreed to do our wedding!
- I took a "sewing" class with Yekta and made my wedding veil!
- Mike & Jessica came to visit us and we all went to a rock concert.
- Rob & Courtney came to visit!
- Figured out what Jon and the groomsmen were wearing at the wedding
- Sent out our wedding invitations and started to get lots of RSVP's
- Went to Holly's baby shower
- Honeymoon booked!
- Started to feel REALLY stressed with the wedding planning, especially because we had to make so many trips to Portland and had to try and fit all the planning in the short 2 days we would spend there.
- I HATED my job! Was still considering heading back to Portland.
- Started our marriage counseling with Pastor Frisinger, which we really enjoyed and were happy we were doing it.
- Spending weekends in Portland made miss and appreciate our friends so much!
June
- I turned 28! and it was my last birthday was Wendy Vidrio
- Jon turned 27!
- We started to build good friendships with friends here in Washington, Chris, Ainara, and Yekta. They seriously helped with the homesickness we often felt
- Alyson's has Asher a day after my birthday
- I had my bridal shower
- We went wine tasting and picked out our wines for the wedding.
- I found the PERFECT shoes for the wedding!
- I still REALLY hated Nintendo and started to look for jobs and went in for an interview as an HR assistant at a warehouse, it wasn't a good fit, but i was happy that i got called in for an interview and gave me hopes that i would find something better!
- Michelle graduates from high school
July
- We got MARRIED!!!! I gotta say, that was the best thing of this month :)
- We went on our honeymoon to Playa Del Carmen, for 7 wonderful days
- I went interview for the admin assistant job that i currently have, they called me the day after the wedding to let me know that i got the job! That made me VERY happy. That night i emailed Nintendo and told them that i wasn't coming back, that felt GREAT
- Holly gave birth to Savannah on July 5th
- I started my new position at Bastyr, on my 1st day there i knew that i would be much happier here!
- I changed my last name!!! I was happy to give up Vidrio and officially become Burns!
- Started adjusting to married life
- Duck season began and we went to Eugene to watch the 1st game of the season with friends.
- We started to look for a new place to live. I really wanted to get a head start on this so we could find our perfect home, and we did! We found out town home!
- I got a new Iphone!
- We celebrated 3 months of marriage and went out to dinner at the Melting pot for a special night.
- Janet asked me to be a bridesmaid in her wedding!
- Rob & Courtney came to visit and we had a fun Halloween night out together.
- Joe and Kim also came to visit, we had a fun time with them.
- We celebrated our 1st thanksgiving as a family, just the 3 of us. I made us a yummy thanksgiving dinner and we started a new family tradition.
- I started to get a lot more comfortable in the kitchen with my cooking skills, YESSS!!!
- Heather & Ivan came to visit us and also Kyle & Koli
- We moved into our new home, and we love it!
- We celebrated the holidays just the 3 of us
- Michelle came to visit and spend the weekend with us.
- Jon's parents came to spend a few days with us after Christmas.
- We drove to Portland and rang in the new year with our friends!!!!
And there you have it 2011 all sumed up into a pretty little post!
